8 RETAILER HALL OF FAME 2026 LETTER FROM THE EDITOR I n the State of the Majors issue earlier this year, industry analyst Edahn Golan made an observation about independent jewelers that’s stuck with me all year. “U.S. specialty jewelers performed better year-over-year than multi-item retailers. That is not surprising,” he wrote in Edahn’s Take, his analysis of the $100 Million Supersellers list. “Specialty jewelers, especially independents, are deeply rooted in their communities. They know their products well and speak about them with confidence and passion.” Confidence and community roots run especially deep with this year’s 2026 Retailer Hall of Fame inductees. Sean Dunn of J.R. Dunn Jewelers in Lighthouse Point, Florida, heads the business his mother and father started in 1969. He continues their charitable initiatives, like “Diamond in the Ruff,” which helps shelter animals find their forever homes, while promoting a product category he is deeply passionate about—natural diamonds. You can read his profile on page 10. Brothers Coleman and Mitchell Clark head BC Clark Jewelers, the independent jeweler that opened in 1892, before Oklahoma was even a state. Now with three stores around Oklahoma City, BC Clark Jewelers remains a cornerstone of the community, the type of company where people want to work and jewelry-loving Oklahomans want to shop. You can read their profile on page 22. In the Midwest, sisters Amy and Elise Greenberg of Sioux City, Iowa- based Greenberg’s Jewelers give back to the communities where their seven stores are located through their involvement with organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association and by showing compassion to customers impacted by natural disasters. You can read their profile on page 36. Then there are the five jewelers we highlight in this issue’s Special Feature: Bullock’s Jewelry in Roswell, New Mexico; Fliegauf Jewelers in Washington, New Jersey; Kloiber Jewelers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Robson’s Jewelers in Baytown, Texas; and Van Horne Jewelers in Granger, Indiana. It’s a geographically diverse list, yet all these stores have something in common: they were founded in 1926 and thereby are celebrating their 100th anniversary this year, a remarkable milestone for any business. You can read their stories on page 46. We hope you enjoy reading about all these stores as much as we liked getting to know their owners and learning about their histories.
